Tweet Tweet, Poke Poke

Assalamualaikum and Hello,

The topic today is on social networking sites. There are just too many of them around. From the days of Friendster to MySpace, the lists of social networking sites just keep on growing. Sites after sites have been created, but none can still beat the popularity of FACEBOOK and TWITTER. The question is, kenapa orang suka Facebook dan Twitter? What makes them so special until they reach millions of viewers and followers? The phenomenon is crazy. Well, I have to admit that i do have both Facebook and Twitter account.

It was waaayyyyy back when I first had my Facebook account. If it wasn't for my buddy, Mandev who created my account, I think I would not even bother to sign up for Facebook. Hehe. And it wasn't until few weeks ago that I had my Twitter account. Yes people, I am proud to say that I am NOT (Haruslah letak caps lock) technology savvy at all.

Anyway, this entry is about the wonders and magic of Facebook and Twitter world. How some of us can't stand not tweetering every single detail of their day and some can't help but typing www.facebook.com everytime they go online. Don't worry, i'm like the second one too :) I think it's the way and the whole concept of these two websites that makes it so addictive and hard to log out from! I mean, some of the features in them can only be done in cyberworld. For instance, how many of us actually poke people in our real life? How many of us confront someone not via Twitter? How many of us care to send pictures to our friends if not by tagging them? It's the whole fun in Facebook and Twitter that makes it so interesting.

What more, we can stalk people we have crush on/ love/ hate all via these websites! Oh, the joy! Okay, now i sound like a big time stalker. :P Plus, we can also like people's tweets and comments besides joining funny groups on Facebook. It's the fact that everytime we sign in, the notification button always turn red or blue that seems to interest us. So there it is, the good and fun side of social networking.

But wait a moment, think about it, it will all just make us more anti-social, no? I mean, where is the usual 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' or 'I MISS YOU' wishes that has now been changed into HB and IMY? Seriously people, are we becoming more lazy to the extend that someofuscantevenfreakingspellthingsinfullsentenceanymore! (amik ko, satu nafas panjang aku sebut benda tu) Or how about the actual number of friends that we actually talk to in real life who are also our friends in Facebook and followers in Twitter? So, the next time you sign in to Facebook and Twitter, think about all these again.
