When Life gives you lemon, throw it to the person who spoils your day

I'm coming home, I'm coming home.

Assalamualaikum and hello,

I am officially done with my final exam for semester 1. Alhamdulillah, couldn't be any happier than this. Although I am really really worried about my results. I mean, it's my 1st semester and I don't know what to expect. But as mama told me yesterday, 'Result tu kita risau kemudian hari' So for now, KITA ENJOY DULU. But before that, I would like to take the chance to wish all Muslims 'Selamat Isra' Mikraj'. May we all get a little something out of the day. May our iman grows with us. Insyaallah.

Looking at the date on my laptop, it's already 29th June. Gosh, time flies so fast, huh? Few months has passed, a semester has gone and I am proud to say, I still survive. Despite the long hours in the library, and many many sleepless nights. And guess what? Soon, I'll be heading back home. Nothing beats that feeling ;)

To be able to see the familiar faces, hug your loved ones, and just spend boring days at home with them. Ah, what a bliss indeed. Really really looking forward to it. Although it's just a short break, but we'll make it worth, right? I have even made a list of what to eat when i'm back home. Antaranya adalah *drumroll* Nasi goreng tomyam, roti canai Kanna, mee goreng mamak, nasi lemak ayam and etc. Yes yes, saya memang rakus bila bab makan. Hehe.

So, as for now, I'll just continue watching my series of How I Met Your Mother while I let time pass away. Insyaallah, I'll have a safe journey back home.

p/s: that awesome feeling when the pilot says "To all Malaysians: Welcome Home"

Till then beautiful readers!

A letter to dad.

This post goes out to the man who/whom:
  • ·         Always believe in me
  • ·         Love me before any man does
  • ·         Take cares of me from my very first day
  • ·         Watch me grow from a little princess to a young lady
  • ·         Who leads me through my first step
  • ·         Guides me through life from when i was a kid until today
  • ·         Never gives up on me
  • ·         Always have faith in me
  • ·         Loves me like no one else can
  • ·         Stands by my side when the world turn its back on me
  • ·         Never fails to calm me with his words of wisdom
  •        I will always look up to
  • ·         I will always admire
  • ·         I will always love no matter what
  • ·           I will always be proud to call ‘abah’
  •        I will always carry in my mind and heart.

Truth is, I can write million more things about you, dad. But words cannot describe how much you mean to me. You mean to me more than all the money in the world or the candies in the store or the sugars in the factories. I can never measure up to you, dad. You’re a man of knowledge and wisdom. Everyday I pray to Allah that one day, I can make you proud of me. I want to live up to your expectation. Insyaallah, that one day will come. Even as I grow up, i will always be that little girl who finds comfort in her dad’s hugs and kisses. Happy father’s day to my hero, my writer, my banker (hehe), my farmer, my nature lover, my mummy's hot guy :D, our ABAH.

p/s: 13 more days till i am home :)

M.I.A

Assalamualaikum and Hello people,

Sorry for the temporary missing in action.

I am currently busy preparing for the finals.

Stress is my middle name now.

Lifeless is what I am becoming.

And a walking zombie is how I look like now.

This is only my first semester in university. I cannot imagine how my last semester's going to be. Probably more stress and even worst eye bags than I have now. Yes, I am starting to have eye bags due to the lack of sleep. And oh, not only that, the library has also become my second home these days. Going back after maghrib seems like a common time for me to head home. Hopefully all these efforts I put in will show in my results. Insyaallah. For the time being, keep on fighting, Amirah. And never give up. Yeah, i also need to start eating on time again. But wait, since it is the month of Rajjab now, it is better to puasa sunat, right? :) I will update my blog very very soon once I am done with my finals.

4 papers and 1 practical exam to fight for.

Till then,
Let's put your nerd on people :)

Lectures? Sleepy?

Assalamualaikum and Hello,

As a student, it seems like a norm for some of us to skip lectures. The reason being? "The lecturer hasn't uploaded the materials yet, I rather go home than not understanding anything without my lecture notes" or "It's okay, let's make full use of lecture recordings"Yes, all these reasons make sense and it is our own personal choice whether to go or not. As for me, being a FAMA sponsored student, I feel obliged to attend all the lectures because my parents HAVE already paid for the services. No way am I letting it go to a waste! Currency rate sangat mahal okay! *walaupun kadang-kadang tak faham apa lecturer cakap, tapi stay je lah sampai habis* Hehe. Plus, I think it is my responsibility to attend them and I also take time to learn something, so I might as well take advantages of the facilities. But then again, as I've said before, it is up to the individual itself. We are all big enough to make the judgements for ourselves.

Anyway, the point of my post today is not to highlight about that. Rather, it is about a man whom I always see in almost every lecture I go to. To those who think this is a love-at-first sight story, no it is not. Sorry again for dissapointing.

Back to the story, everytime I go to my finance and economics lecture, this man always catch my attention. Why you may ask? Because he is not a regular student like majority of us. He is a mature student. By mature I mean, way way mature. Judging from his appearance, I would say he is in his 60's or 70's. I am so fond of him because of his patience and courage of studying despite his age factor. It is never too late to learn something nor it is too young to know something. This enthusiasm and drive is what most of us youngsters are loosing these days. I mean, look at us, we're all still in our teen years and early adulthood, yet we are still complaining and whining on uni life and what not. About how tiring it can be.

Yet, this man in his 60's is still in full spirit to attend university, learning something all of us are learning at an age probably more than half of his. He never fails to attend lectures because I always see him in every lecture since week 1. And you know what else amuses me? He stays awake and focus in lectures when most of us are struggling to keep our eyes wide open. I always wonder how he is in tutorials? Participate actively? Because I am sure a man his age is full with experience and knowledge that money can buy. He has probably been through so many recessions and economic downturn, making him being able to translate all his experience on paper.

We should all have his enthusiasm. To not give up and continue learning something. Education never stops. We never stop learning. Be it formal or informal. Knowledge is not only focus on whatever is taught in lectures or textbooks. Instead, knowledge knows no boundaries. It is beyond that. The world is our teacher. We can learn so much from the people, environment, places and experiences around us. Growing up, my daddy always emphasize on the importance of general knowledge. Because at the end of the day, people respect you for your knowledge, what you know about the world, what your opinion is on global issues. Being a high distinction student with no knowledge of current affairs would not take you far. Instead, be a student who are both book smart and street smart will take you beyond where you expect to be. *this is a reminder for you, Amirah* Always be interested in learning something new. As a Muslim, we should fill ourselves with knowledge for this world and hereafter. Insyaallah, that would make us a better Muslim and better citizen.

Here is a great quote by Khalil Gibran,
"Knowledge cultivates your seeds and does not sow in your seeds"

P/s: Saya tahu saya juga banyak kekurangan. Jadi, post kali ini adalah sebagai peringatan untuk kita semua termasuk saya :)

Till then,
any current issues that we want to discuss? :)

Demi waktu. Tick tock.

Time. These four letters word is very valuable, precious and meaningful indeed. What is the value of it? Priceless. What is the cost of it? Infinity. What is the use of it? Everything. Time is indeed a very important part in our life. Without it, how can we know when is the right time to wake up? When will our class starts? Is it time to perform our prayers? Everytime we want to do anything, we will straight away look at our watch and decide if to go with the plan or not.

Time cannot be reversed, we cannot turn back time. We cannot re-visit the past. We cannot rewind back our mistakes. What we can do is to make the best of the time we have left. No rich man can buy time. We can't go to the shop asking, 'Apek, ada jual itu masa tak? Gua mau bila la.' or we can't go to the market and ask, 'Makcik, masa sekilo berapa ah?' I dare someone to ask that and let me know if you get a high five on your cheek by the end of the question, okay? :)

Being a university student, what I have learnt is that there is never enough time in a day! 24 hours seems so short! I have to do so many things within a day, up to the point I think I need another extra 10 hours in a day! Although my routine seems very similar to others, I mean, I wake up, shower, go to class, do my prayers, study, tutorials, bla bla bla. But sometimes, especially when I have assignments to be submitted, I always feel as though I have to rush time! And that is when I learn how valuable time is for me. I can do anything I want in a day, for as long as I complete my priorities, I pretty much feel accomplish :)

Time also does not wait for anyone. When the time comes for us to meet The Almighty, we will have to leave this Earth eventually. There is no such thing as asking for an extend or not being ready to meet Him. The truth is, everyone is afraid of death. But us as a human being have to accept the fact that we will all leave the Earth one day. Our time will come. So, let us do good deeds while we still have time and try to stay away from sin. I'm just a regular person, full of mistakes and flaws.

So, while we still have time, do not forget to tell those we love how much we love and treasure them in our life. Tell them how important they are to us. And never never ever take them for granted. Because truth is, you never know when will you get to see the again, right?

p/s: A reminder to myself, *Amirah, dari you membazir 10 minit stalk orang kat Facebook, lagi elok kalau you stalk blog che det or akadirjasin. Lagi berguna. Sekian :) *

Till then,
Let's get a new watch people! :P

Mama Mia!

Dear Puan Zaini,

I am taking this chance to wish you:

 HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

It's sad for the fact that this year is my first time not being able to celebrate it with you. But let's not be sad about it because we both know that near or far, I will always have my mum close to me. I'm here to make you and abah proud of me. I will try my best, whatever it takes.

Dear Puan Zaini,
Thank you for being my pillar of support, for being my tissue when i cry, for being my pillow when i'm asleep. And ultimately, thank you for understanding your ever-so-complex little girl. I know I have done you wrong a couple of times, I hope that you can forgive all my wrongdoings. I love you a lot. I never want to leave you, mama. Even when I'm married and have a job, I'll find a house near Danau Villa, okay? Hehe. Sebab saya tak mampu nak sewa rumah kat Danau Villa. Hehe. Thanks for your sacrifice. Everyday I tell The Almighty that you have done a terrific job in being my mum. May Allah bless you.
My beautiful, strong, awesome MAMA and me :)

I love you so, and once again, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY.

Lots of love,
From Big A in Adelaide :)
